Presently maize is in silking stage in the key producing states in India. Maize is cultivated in India in both summer and winter, but most of the output comes from the summer crop. Maize prices are slightly increased in major markets on account of decline in arrivals. At Sangli (Maharashtra) market prices were at Rs. 1280 per quintal.
