Chicago observes rain, hail, and lightningWeather conditions in Chicago have been playing games for the past few days. While the last few days were quite spring like for the city in Illinois, wild weather conditions have taken over. So much so that the city observed not only rain but also hail and snow during the last 24 hours. The weekend began as a rainy/ snowy one for the region.

The last week had observed temperatures reaching the 60s, however, the mercury was quick enough to drop to the upper 30s on Thursday night. Several areas observed gold ball sized hail on Thursday night, along with the usual rains.

Windshields were covered with hail in the Portage Park neighborhood. At first people thought it was just rain, but the crackling sound of it made the residents look outside and the grounds were covered with hail.

Well, that was not all as even lightning was reported in several parts of the city. Some rainfall was also recorded on Friday afternoon as well as the evening hours. Snow showers are likely during the morning hours today as temperatures will dip even below the freezing point in some areas.

However, by Sunday, mild weather will once again make a comeback with the mercury settling in the upper 40s by Sunday afternoon.
