Rain and thundershowers to continue in UAE

United Arab Emirates witnessed some spells of rain and thundershowers on Saturday. As rains continued over the region, the weather became unusually cold.

While many welcomed the wet conditions happily, some felt it like home bound and not been able to enjoy the weekend.

In fact, businesses were largely affected due to rains, as people were reluctant to move out of their homes or workplaces during bad weather.

Rain and cloudy conditions are likely to continue over parts of the UAE on Sunday, and the wet conditions are expected to continue until Monday morning.

According to weather forecasters, coastal, northern and island areas of the UAE is anticipated to witness unstable weather in the coming days, with possibilities of rain and thundershowers.

Moreover, the humidity levels will rise to almost 85 per cent in the evening on the coast and 95 per cent inland. The sea will be moderate to rough in the Arabian Gulf and moderate in the Sea of Oman. People are advised to stay away from the water. The police have warned motorists to drive carefully in the bad weather.

Fog is also expected over some inland areas on Monday morning with visibility dropping to as low 1,000 meters between Abu Dhabi and Dubai, Sweihan and Al Minhad.

Moderate winds re expected to blow with a touch of freshening breeze at times over the sea, becoming light over the land.

Temperatures will range between 14°C and 28°C along the coast, with 12°C to 30°C inland. The highest temperatures over the mountains will be 20°C and the lowest 9°C on Sunday and Monday.
