Western Australia Bushfires

Western Australia Bushfires have caused immense damage to the town of Yarloop. These bushfires have destroyed over 130 homes, and two people are believed to be killed in its wake. The town is situated around 120 km away from the capital of Western Australia, Perth.

People shared pictures of the bushfires on several social media platforms. The US Space Agency, NASA was also not left behind. NASA’s Suomi NPP satellite captured a stunning natural colour image of smoke produced by the bushfires clearly visible from space.  The smoke stretched hundreds of kilometres into the Indian and the Southern Ocean.

Firefighters in Western Australia have been tackling the bushfires since Wednesday, four of them have also been injured. The fire was sparked due to lightning on January 6 and has burned more than 70,000 hectares of land. Conditions improved and alert for Western Australian Bushfires has been dropped to advice in the east of Waroona, Yarloop, and Hamel.
