Cadbury upsets Chocoholics, changes Fruit and Nut recipe

Cadbury upsets Chocoholics, changes recipe of Fruit and NutIf you are an avid chocolate lover and can’t keep your eyes off that sinful bar of Cadbury Fruit and Nut, be prepared to get disappointed. 'Everyone’s a fruit and a nutcase’. The popular slogan was the beauty of the 90-year old Cadbury Dairy Milk Fruit and Nut chocolate bar. However, this beauty is in for a makeover as the fruit in the ‘Fruit and Nut’ is getting changed.

Fruit and Nut bar was first launched in the year 1926 and Kraft, the new owner of Cadbury, plans to bring variety in these bars by adding sultanas instead of raisins. Sultanas belongs to the grape family and as per Cadbury, customers won’t be able to tell the difference. However, as the news broke out, chocoholics have expressed their disagreement on Twitter and other social media platforms.

Cadbury has been under the US ownership since 2010. As per a Cadbury spokesperson, sultanas have been brought into the picture to add variety and make this famous chocolate an affordable treat for all. Also, the trials were done on around 200 adults and none could tell the difference even after the addition of sultanas.

The packaging will remain the same and no change will be made on the size or the weight of the sinful chocolate bar as well. First it was the change in the recipe of Britain’s favourite crème eggs and now it is the fruit and nut. Seems like the new owner Kraft will leave nothing sacred in the world’s favourite chocolate brand.
