Southwest Monsoon continues to be weak due to the several tropical storms in the western Pacific.
At present Southwest Monsoon is normal over Uttarakhand and parts of East and Northeast India
A fresh West Disturbance over North Pakistan and adjoining areas will start affecting North India from Monday onwards. This system will give scattered light rain over Jammu and Kashmir and increasing thereafter.
The western end of the Monsoon trough runs closer to the foothills of Himalayas. Both the system combined together will give rain and thundershowers over Punjab, Haryana and Delhi-NCR. While Uttarakhand will receive heavy to very heavy rain on Monday.
While the eastern end of Monsoon trough which is extending up to Northeast Bay of Bengal across Bihar and West Bengal will give moderate to heavy showers over Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Sikkim, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Odisha, Jharkhand and Bihar.
Another trough can be seen extending from Bihar up to North Bay of Bengal, across Jharkhand, Odisha and West Bengal. Good rains likely along the trough line.
The offshore trough is shrinking and presently lies between Coastal Karnataka and Kerala. The system has become less marked and will give rain only over these areas.
West, Central India and interiors of the Peninsula will be mostly dry.
