08 July, 2015 Monsoon Update: Skymet Weather

July 7, 2015 7:28 PM |

Southwest Monsoon remains active over North and East India on account of the several weather systems across the country.

Western Disturbance over Jammu and Kashmir is now moving away but the remnants of the system will continue to give some rain over the hilly states of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand on Wednesday.

Induced cyclonic circulation from this system is also persisting over Pakistan and adjoining North Rajasthan.

Monsoon trough can be seen extending from this system up to northeast Bay of Bengal.

This trough which was earlier running close to foothills has now shifted southwards and is presently passing through indo-Gangetic plains across the weather system over Bihar.

All these weather systems coupled together will give moderate to heavy rains over Punjab, Haryana, North Rajasthan, Delhi NCR, Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, secondary arm of the Monsoon trough is extending upto Northeast region, giving scattered rainfall over Northeastern states.
Another trough can be seen extending from the cyclonic circulation over Bihar up to coastal Andhra Pradesh across Odisha and Jharkhand. On Wednesday, we can expect rain over the places along the well-marked trough line.

Talking about southern parts of India, the off-shore trough along the West Coast that has been inactive for last few days will now gain strength once again that will gradually increase the intensity of rain over Karnataka and Kerala.

Meanwhile parts of West, Central and Peninsular India will continue with isolated weather activities on Wednesday.
