April 28, 2016 5:45 PM |

With no weather systems in offing, hilly states of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand will remain weather free on Friday. However, isolated to light rain cannot be ruled out.

Plains of Northwest India will also have clear weather with bright sunshine, leading to slight rise in temperatures. On Friday, temperatures across the region are likely to settle above 40°C.

Moving on to Northeast India, the cyclonic circulation over Assam and Meghalaya continues to sustain its strength. With this, fairly widespread light to moderate pre-Monsoon rain and thundershowers will continue over the entire region.

A trough can also be seen extending from this system up to North Andhra Pradesh across Odisha and West Bengal. Accordingly we can expect isolated light rain over Odisha, West Bengal, Andhra Pradesh, Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh.

Down south, wind discontinuity can be seen from Vidarbha to Comorin region across Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu.

With this we can expect, isolated light rain over Vidarbha, Marathwada, Telangana, Karnataka, Kerala and extreme south Tamil Nadu on Friday.

All these rain activities over several parts will bring slight relief from severe heatwave conditions over these states.

However, temperatures will continue to hover above 42°C.

Meanwhile, East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Jharkhand, interiors of Odisha will continue to reel under heatwave conditions on Friday.

We can expect significant relief only with the commencement of May wherein pre-Monsoon showers will pick up the pace.
