Weather Forecast for Jan 14: Rain and snow in Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal, Fog in Delhi

January 13, 2017 6:30 PM |

A fresh Western Disturbance is affecting Jammu and Kashmir, which will give scattered rain and snow over the higher reaches of Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh. The intensity and spread of the activity are likely to increase by Sunday.

The system has also changed the wind pattern over the northwestern plains, which will in turn increase the minimum temperatures across the region. With this, cold wave conditions are likely to abate but isolated pockets will continue to reel under its ambit.

Fog will also make comeback over Punjab, Haryana and Delhi NCR but intensity of fog will be confined to shallow only.

An anti-cyclonic circulation is seen marked over Maharashtra and adjoining areas which will keep the weather clear and dry over Central India. However, night temperatures across East Madhya Pradesh and Odisha will settle below normal and cold wave conditions will prevail over the region.

Meanwhile down south, in absence of any significant weather system, weather over entire South India will remain clear and dry. Interior Tamil Nadu and Kerala could see some clouding but rain is not a chance.

Andaman and Nicobar Islands will continue to witness light rain and thundershowers.
