Weather Forecast for Jan 24: Snow in Kashmir, Himachal, Uttarakhand; Rain in TN

January 23, 2017 4:32 PM |

Two successive Western Disturbances are likely to affect the hills of North India. The systems are marked over East Jammu and Kashmir and North Pakistan, respectively.

In wake of these systems, moderate to heavy rain and snow may occur at many places over the hills of Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.

A cyclonic circulation is persisting over Central Pakistan and adjoining North Rajasthan. This could give scattered rain and thundershowers over Punjab.

Meanwhile, night temperatures will continue to rise over the northwest plains on account of warm southwesterly winds blowing across the region. Also, the wind chill factor has completely abated from the region.

An anti- cyclone continues to persist over the central parts of the country, which keeps the weather over central and eastern parts of the country dry and clear with bright sunshine.

However, shallow fog may occur over eastern as well as northeastern states.

Down South, a cyclonic circulation is seen over Southwest Bay of Bengal. Due to this, isolated light rain and thundershowers are likely over southern parts of Tamil Nadu. Rest of South Peninsula will remain dry.
