Weather Forecast for May 4: Rain in Kolkata, Bengaluru and Delhi to abate heatwave

The approaching Western Disturbance is now over North Pakistan and adjoining areas. While its induced cyclonic circulation is over Central Pakistan and adjoining Rajasthan and Punjab.

Both the systems coupled together will give fairly widespread rain and thundershowers over Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand on Wednesday.

These rains will also be crucial for dousing off the massive fire over forests of Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh region.

While the systems will bring patchy light rain and thundershowers along with thunderstorm or dust storm activities over plains of Rajasthan, Punjab, Haryana and Delhi NCR.

West Madhya Pradesh and West Uttar Pradesh will also see some activity under its influence.

A cyclonic circulation persists over Bihar and adjoining West Bengal and Jharkhand. A trough also runs from the system up to North Coastal Andhra Pradesh across Odisha.

This will give scattered to fairly widespread good pre-Monsoon rain and thundershowers over Bihar, West Bengal and Jharkhand. While, isolated light showers may occur over Odisha, East Uttar Pradesh and Chhattisgarh.

Major city like Patna, Gaya, Kolkata and Ranchi will also witness good rain thundershowers on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, rains will continue to be on backseat over Northeast India but they are likely to pick up again Thursday onwards.

Wind discontinuity continues to prevail from Marathwada region up to Comorin area across Vidarbha, Interior Karnataka and Interior Tamil Nadu.
