Weather Forecast for Sep 29: Rains in Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Chennai, dry in North India

Monsoon has further withdrawn from some more parts of Rajasthan and also from parts of Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir. The situation is now becoming favorable for further withdrawal of Southwest Monsoon from some more parts of Northwest India during next 24 hours. Mainly dry weather conditions will prevail over northern hills and northwest plains, except Uttarakhand where isolated weather activity may occur.

The cyclonic circulation over Chhattisgarh and adjoining Telangana continues to persist. A trough is also extending from Gangetic West Bengal to North Tamil Nadu across Odisha and Andhra Pradesh Coast.

Moderate with isolated heavy showers are possible over Odisha, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Bihar and Gangetic West Bengal. We can also expect scattered light rains over Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, South Interior Karnataka and North Tamil Nadu including Chennai.

Meanwhile, East Madhya Pradesh will receive scattered light rains, while west Madhya Pradesh, Marathwada and the West Coast will continue to witness isolated rain activity.

The cyclonic circulation over Assam is now seen over Tripura, bringing scattered moderate rains over Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram and Tripura region. However, the rain intensity will reduce over rest parts of Northeast India.
