Bangalore Rain In AprilIt has been raining in Bangalore since five days now. Throughout April, the city has been witnessing rainfall of varying intensity. After a sunny start on most days, Bangalore has been receiving heavy rain in the later part of the day. There are chances of a cloud build up even today.

The city has recorded rain in double-digits in the last four days. After recording 53 mm rain on Thursday, Bangalore recorded 130 mm rain in the last four days. This puts the total rainfall figure at five times the monthly average. This means that Bangalore has now received more than 200 mm rainfall in the month of April. Interestingly though, the monthly rainfall average for Bangalore in the month of April stands at a meagre 40 mm.

Usually, the month of April is the hottest for Bangalore. Average temperature is recorded at 34.1°C and the overall heat combined with humidity often triggers thunderstorm activity in the region. This thunderstorm activity is then followed by rain in the city. But this year, the city has witnessed unusually heavy rainfall right from the first half of the month.

More rain is expected today as a cloud build-up is possible in the later part of the day. In the coming days, Bangalore may get closer to its all-time high of 323.8 mm rainfall, recorded in April, 2001. But the city may not be able to record a new all-time high in terms of monthly rainfall for April.
