Weather-429X310 - CopyTemperatures in South India usually remain comfortable during winter months of December to February. But the minimum temperatures in the interior parts of Karnataka are observing a drop by almost 4-7 degrees at the moment.

According to the data available with Skymet Meteorology Division in India, Agumbe recorded 10.7°C as the minimum temperature on Thursday, which is 4 degrees below the normal average. The low minimum temperatures being witnessed in interior parts of Karnataka are due to the cool northeasterlies blowing from the land. These winds are cooler during nights and early morning hours.

Meanwhile, the coastal areas of Karnataka are still warm with maximums settling in the mid-thirties and minimums in the low twenties. Some of the places to record above normal minimums are Mangalore, Honavar and Karwar.
