Goa surpasses monthly rains, more showers aheadSince the time Southwest Monsoon has made an onset over Goa, the entire region has been witnessing good rains. So much so that currently, active to vigorous Monsoon conditions have been prevailing over the region.

Goa has received good Monsoon rains in the last 24 hours as well. Panjim has recorded 33.6 mm of rain in a span of 24 hours. These rains can be attributed to the off shore trough which is running along the West Coast. To add to it, a cyclonic circulation has also developed in the Arabian Sea which is in close proximity of Goa.

Monsoon rains in Goa were moderate in nature today as well. In fact, in a span of six hours from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm today, Panjim recorded 19 mm of rain. Thus, the region has finally surpassed its monthly rains with five more days left in June.

So far, Panjim has received 865.4 mm of rain against the monthly average of 861.5 mm. Now, during the next 24 to 48 hours, Goa is expected to receive more rains. In fact, by the end of June, Goa could record much more rains than it usually does.
