Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal, Uttarakhand to witness rainWeather conditions were slightly clearer in the hills of North India during the last few days as compared to the months of January and February. In fact, barring the higher reaches, weather activity had reduced to quite an extent.

However, rain and thundershowers are expected to make an appearance over many parts of Jammu and Kashmir along with areas of Himachal Pradesh during the late hours of tonight. These rains are expected to stay and will continue until March 23. Thereafter, weather will clear up over the hilly states.

As far as Uttarakhand is concerned, good rains are expected over the region tonight. Thereafter, rainfall activity will become scattered on March 22.

In fact, the rainfall intensity will be on the higher side on March 22. The possibility of isolated snowfall over the higher reaches of both Himachal and Jammu and Kashmir cannot be ruled out. In fact, a few areas in the higher hills including Kheerganga have been witnessing light snow.

These weather activities are attributed to the presence of a Western Disturbance which is feeble in nature. The system is currently over North Pakistan and adjoining Jammu and Kashmir and will begin to affect the Western Himalayas tonight onward.

Clouding is expected to increase over Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh during the next few hours itself.
