Jammu and Kashmir To Receive Good Rain and Snow in the next 48 hoursA Western Disturbance has moved over Jammu & Kashmir and is expected to cause good rain and snow over the region. It has already started raining in Srinagar. There is clouding over many areas of the state, and they are expected to receive rain and snow in the next 48 hours. The maximum temperatures across Jammu and Kashmir have been running very high. Rain is expected to bring some respite from the hot weather.

On March 26 and 27, the maximum temperatures in many areas of Jammu and Kashmir were recorded well above normal. The temperature for some of these areas are as follows: Banihal 23.2°C (6 degrees above normal) and 23.3°C (5 degrees above normal), Batot 25.3°C (9 degrees above normal) and 27.3°C (8 degrees above normal), Bhadarwa 25.3°C and 27.3°C (8 degrees above normal). Gulmarg 10.2°C (5 degrees above normal), and 12.2°C (6 degrees above normal), Kupwada 21.9°C and 23.2°C (8 degrees above normal, Pahalgam 17.7°C and 19.8°C (8 degrees above normal), and Srinagar 20.3°C and 23.3°C (5 degrees above normal).

Since the last two days, the rising temperatures have resulted in hot weather in Jammu and Kashmir. With the upcoming rain and snow, the system will cause intensity and the temperatures will drop down substantially. The area will receive intense rain.
