Updated on July 27, 2015: Good rainfall activity to continue over West MP for next 24 to 36 hours

The well-marked low over West Rajasthan will continue to give widespread heavy rainfall over parts of West Madhya Pradesh for the next 24 to 36 hours. After 48 hours, when the system starts shifting towards Pakistan, intensity of rain over West MP is likely to reduce.

Updated on July 26, 2015 02:30 PM (IST): Heavy Monsoon showers to continue in Madhya Pradesh 

The low pressure area over East Rajasthan and adjoining West Madhya Pradesh has intensified into a well-marked low pressure area. Entire Madhya Pradesh, Southeast Rajasthan and the Kutch region of Gujarat has witnessed fairly widespread rainfall in last 24 hours.

Here's a look at the rainfall figures in several parts of Madhya Pradesh in a span of 24 hours, from 8.30 am on Saturday:

The weather system will continue to bring heavy rainfall over many districts of West Madhya Pradesh, East Rajasthan and Kutch during next 24 hours. The system is likely to gain more strength and could also turn into a depression in another day or so. Gradually, rainfall will reduce in Madhya Pradesh, but continue in East Rajasthan and Gujarat.

Updated on July 25, 2015 05:30 PM (IST): Low pressure area continues to give heavy rains in Madhya Pradesh

The low pressure area over East Rajasthan and adjoining West Madhya Pradesh region persists. It has brought heavy Monsoon showers in Madhya Pradesh. As predicted by Skymet, the western parts of the state have received more rain than the eastern parts. Ratlam has recorded 198.4 mm of rain on Friday, while Rajgarh received 122 mm of rainfall.

The low pressure area could soon intensify into a well-marked low pressure area and gradually into a depression in the coming days.

The low pressure area over Southwest Madhya Pradesh and adjoining East Rajasthan will continue to bring heavy rainfall over many districts of West Madhya Pradesh during next 24 hours.

On the other hand, East Madhya Pradesh will receive scattered light to moderate Monsoon rains. After a day or so, the intensity of rain will increase in East Madhya Pradesh as well.

Meanwhile, here’s a look at the rainfall figures in several parts of Madhya Pradesh, in a span of 24 hours from 8.30 am on Thursday:

The cyclonic circulation over Chhattisgarh and adjoining areas will also affect weather in Madhya Pradesh to some extent. Heavy to moderate Monsoon showers will continue in the entire state till about July 26. Thereafter, the intensity of rain will decrease as both the weather systems (low pressure area over Rajasthan and cyclonic circulation over Chhattisgarh) will move away towards Gujarat. The rain belt will shift and Gujarat will once again start receiving heavy to extremely heavy rains.

At present West Madhya Pradesh has received surplus rainfall of 29%, but East Madhya Pradesh is deficit by 7%.

In view of the present intense rain episode, the rainfall deficiency in East Madhya Pradesh will get mitigated and this part of the country could record surplus rainfall figure. On the other, cumulative rainfall figure in West Madhya Pradesh is expected to become excess.
