Light rain likely over BhopalDuring this Monsoon, most parts of Madhya Pradesh have received good rains, particularly West Madhya Pradesh where 26 per cent excess rainfall has been recorded so far. Also, the state capital Bhopal has performed fairly well in terms of rainfall.

For Bhopal, July and August are the rainiest months of the season. This year, the city performed exceedingly well in terms of rainfall during the month of July. The monthly average rainfall for July is 372 mm. But the city recorded a whopping 475 mm of rain making it the rainiest month for Bhopal this season.

The first half of August also performed fairly well. However, the last few days were not too fruitful rain wise. The monthly rainfall average for Bhopal in August is 402 mm. The city till now has only recorded 281 mm of rainfall.

Central India on the whole observes very high temperatures during summer due to its location. The lowest temperatures are recorded in the month of August. However, the region witnesses a second summer which results in the rise of temperatures during the months of September and October. Rainfall comes in as a relief from high temperatures.

Bhopal has remained dry for the past eight days. However, in the coming days, cloudy sky conditions and light showers are possible. Though the rainfall will not be good enough to be able to meet the monthly rainfall average for Bhopal.
