Monsoon rain brings cheer to Delhi, more on the cards

July 27, 2016 11:39 AM |

Delhi rains Delhi has been witnessing on and off patchy rains in the last few days. However, rains are all set to intensify over the national capital now onwards.

As reiterated by Skymet Weather, good showers are expected to lash several parts of the city during the next 24 hours. This will be a prolonged spell of rains which is likely to last for at least 2-3 days.

Rain bearing clouds are seen hovering over several parts of Delhi-NCR and we can expect rains to begin any time now.

We have already seen an increase in the rain intensity during the last 24 hours. Faridabad has recorded 63 mm of rain, followed by Yamuna Sports Complex 50 mm, Pusa 9 mm, Aaya Nagar 7 mm, Safdarjung 4.8 mm and Palam Observatory 3 mm.

These rains can be attributed to the several weather systems prevailing in close proximity of Delhi-NCR. The Monsoon trough which was running south of Delhi is now oscillating towards north direction and is now running close to Delhi.

Moreover, a fresh Western Disturbance is moving across Jammu and Kashmir. In addition to this, a cyclonic circulation is marked over West Madhya Pradesh and adjoining parts of Gujarat and Rajasthan.

Interaction between all these systems will lead to good Monsoon rains and thunder over several parts of Delhi-NCR. We can also expect some heavy spells during this time period.

In wake of these showers, day maximums will also register a significant drop, paving way for pleasant weather conditions.
