Weather in AP, Telangana

Many parts of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana have been witnessing heatwave like conditions for a long while now. So much so, that temperatures have been settling between 36°C to 42°C.

In a span of 24 hours from 08:30 am on Monday, areas like Anantapur recorded a maximum temperature of 41.7°C, Kurnool 40.7°C, Tirupathi 37.5°C, Vijayawada 36.7°C, Hyderabad 39.9°C, Nizamabad 40.9°C and Ramagundam 39°C.

These high maximums can be attributed to the presence of a trough. This system is seen extending from Vidarbha region of Maharashtra up to Southeast Arabian Sea across Telangana. Moreover, southerly-southwesterly winds are prevailing over most parts of Rayalaseema and Telangana. These winds are warm and humid in nature, leading to above normal day temperatures. These winds are blowing from past many days giving warm and dry weather over the region.

As per Skymet Weather, due to these warm inland winds, temperatures will continue to settle close to 40°C and is not expected to drop at least for next couple of days. No relief is in sight from the prevailing hot and sultry weather for both the states.

Due to these high temperatures, during afternoon hours uneasiness and discomfort level will increase significantly for the residents. To such an extent, that there are possibilities of heat stroke or sun stroke. In fact, people are advised to stay hydrated, just to avoid any fatality.
