Rain in HyderabadPre-Monsoon rains in Hyderabad have given marginal relief from the ongoing weather conditions. While the temperature on May 2 settled at 42 degrees, the mercury witnessed a drop by two notches and recorded 40 degrees on May 3.

During the past 24 hours from 8:30 am on Tuesday, Hyderabad received 0.7 mm of rain. Also, the first three days of May have been rainy with the city receiving light scattered rainfall.

May is the hottest month of the year for the capital city of Telangana. While the average maximum is 39.4 degrees, minimums also go up to 26.3 degree Celsius. Also, during the months of April and May, good Pre-Monsoon shower activity takes place.

These Pre-Monsoon showers occur due to two systems namely the peninsular trough and the wind discontinuity. These systems are semi-permanent features during this particular season.

As per Skymet Meteorology Division of India, Hyderabad is likely to receive more Pre-Monsoon rains during the next 4 to 5 days. These activities can only be expected during the latter part of the day. Temperatures may witness a marginal drop and are likely to record close to the normal levels as well
