Uttar Pradesh rains

Parts of North India are at present witnessing a culmination of mild and windy weather conditions. The day temperatures across North India particularly in Delhi and the surrounding regions have stayed well above normal.

However, in the recent days, the day temperatures in the region have dropped and stayed close to normal. Though, recently, light rains did occur in parts of Delhi, NCR as well as parts of Uttar Pradesh.

As per Skymet Weather, a fresh Western Disturbance is likely to approach the Western Himalayas on the evening or night of March 6. Moreover, an induced cyclonic circulation is also likely to approach over North Rajasthan and adjoining areas.

Due to both these weather systems, the northern plains of the country including plains of North Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab, Delhi and West Uttar Pradesh are expected to receive light rain and thundershower activities from March 7 onwards.

Moreover, the intensity of rain is expected to increase by March 8. This will hence result in light rain to commence over Delhi and NCR around March 8.

Furthermore, an east-west trough is also likely to develop right from Haryana to Bihar around March 9. Hence, in a way, the entire Indo-Gangetic plains including the states of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar are likely to receive good rain-thundershower activities between March 9 and 12.

Though light rains have occurred in the recent past over most parts of North India, this may be the first good rainy spell over the entire northern and eastern plains during this pre-monsoon season.
