Rains to take a backseat in Punjab, temperatures to drop

February 21, 2017 4:45 PM |

Rains to take a backseat in Punjab, temperatures to dropThe state of Punjab has been witnessing on and off rains for the past two to three days. Traces of rains have been observed over many parts of the state.

Light rainfall was also recorded in many parts of Punjab as well as North Haryana during the last 24 hours. In fact, cities of Haryana including Chandigarh and Ambala have also observed a few traces of rain. However, now, rainy days will take a backseat.

The rainy conditions were attributed to the presence of a Western Disturbance which had been affecting the hills of North India. However, the system has moved away, thus the weather conditions are likely to become clear soon.

So much so that the temperatures which were running above the normal levels are likely to witness a drop. In fact, the drop is likely to be by at least four to five degrees, thus the summer like feel is expected to take a backseat.

However, this doesn’t mean that the wintry conditions will make a comeback. In fact, the weather conditions will now become pleasant. Around February 26, another Western Disturbance is likely to affect the Western Himalayas. During that time, temperatures are expected to witness a rise once again.
