Rajasthan and Gujarat reeling under hot weather conditionsMonsoon has withdrawn from Rajasthan and hot and dry weather conditions have taken over. Most parts of Rajasthan and Gujarat have been reeling under dry weather conditions with no weather system affecting the area. Temperatures are now soaring again bringing uneasiness and discomfort for the residents of the region.

During the month of October after Monsoon comes to an end, temperatures are on the higher side as compared to the weather conditions in the month of September. Due to the geographical position of Rajasthan and Gujarat, the regions receive very minimal rain in October.

Also, any weather system, be it the Western Disturbance or the system over Bay of Bengal, they do not affect Rajasthan and Gujarat at all. Presently, the establishment of an anti-cyclonic circulation close to Rajasthan depicts that dry spell will continue over these areas and the temperatures will continue to be on the higher side, mostly 2 to 3 degrees above normal.

Temperatures in both Gujarat and Rajasthan have been recording above the normal levels. For instance, Bhuj in Gujarat recorded 40°C as maximum on Saturday (4 degrees above normal), while Nalia and Disa observed 38.4°C and 40.2°C (both 3 degrees above normal), respectively. Also, Barmer in Rajasthan recorded 39.1°C as maximum (1 degree above normal), Jodhpur and Sri Ganganagar recorded 39.1°C and 38.8°C (3 degrees above normal), respectively.

Due to the south-westerly winds, areas including Barmer, Jaisalmer, and Jodhpur will witness dusty winds during the afternoon hours.
