Relief from winter chill in offing for Central and West India

January 19, 2017 4:34 PM |

Weather in RajasthanFor the past few days, almost all parts of the Northwest and Central India were under the grip of winter chill. Though northern plains are still reeling under cold weather conditions, relief is on card for Central India.

According to Skymet Weather, temperatures over the central parts of the country are likely to rise significantly. All thanks to the anti-cyclone persisting over the region.

Due to this, winds over South Rajasthan, Chhattisgarh, South Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat and North Maharashtra will be blowing from east and southeast direction. These winds are relatively warmer and humid in nature as compared to dry and cold northwesterly winds that have been blowing over these states till now.

With this, both the maximum and minimum temperatures will start increasing gradually and the affect of icy cold winds will decrease. Weathermen predict these weather conditions to continue for next 2-3 days. Therefore, winter chill will fade away over most parts of Central and West India.

Not only this, due to the mixing of warm southeasterly and cold northeasterly winds over west and central parts of Rajasthan, we can expect light rain over isolated places over West Rajasthan during the next 24 to 48 hours.

The affect of this system can also be felt over some parts of northern plains, wherein Delhi, West Uttar Pradesh and South Haryana could also see rise in day maximums. However, nights will continue to be cold and chilly.
