Sign of relief from hot weather in Mumbai

February 20, 2017 11:37 AM |

Mumbai weather The city of dreams has already started witnessing the heat of summers in the third week of February itself. This year, the maximum temperatures of Mumbai and adjoining areas have seen a significant increase and settled above normal.

During last few days, Mumbai has recorded 6 to 8 degrees above normal maximums. In fact, the adjoining area of Dahanu also reported 10 degrees above normal day temperature just recently.

According to Skymet Weather, drop in temperatures over the city by 3 to 4 degrees is expected during the next 48 hours. With this, we can say that some relief is in sight for Mumbaikars from the existing summer like weather conditions.

This fall in temperatures is due to the change in wind direction. Winds from northwest direction are expected to register a drop in temperatures.

By February 23, hot inland winds from northeast direction will once again start blowing over the region. These winds will reach the region from Gujarat, South Rajasthan and adjoining West Madhya Pradesh. In wake of these hot inland winds, temperatures are likely to rise once again.
