After some continuous light downpour in last five days, residents in Tamil Nadu can expect some more rains coming towards them. Even the city of Chennai may get some light showers in the days to come.
As per the meteorologists at Skymet Weather, a trough is extending from interior Tamil Nadu to South Chhattisgarh. Because of this weather system, scattered rains are going on since last few days. Now, as the trough is passing through the interior regions of the state, more scattered rain is expected to occur over interior parts of Tamil Nadu.
Isolated areas of North Tamil Nadu may also record some light rains. Gradually, in days to come, we can expect the trough to move in east direction. Hence the rain activity will increase over coastal areas of Tamil Nadu including Chennai. But the rain intensity over Chennai is likely to be light.
The month of March is not known for its rainy spells over the state of Tamil Nadu, but the ongoing rainy spell which is going on since the start of the month is beneficial. This rainy spell will infuse the ground water levels and prepare for a hot summers.
