Tamil Nadu Rains 1

After a long spell of almost dry and rainless period, Tamil Nadu finally witnessed some good showers lately. But even with the light intensity, these rains are no less than a much needed relief for the hot and humid Tamil Nadu.

These rains can be attributed to the cyclonic circulation over west central Bay of Bengal off Andhra Pradesh coast is seen bet 1.5 and 5.8 kms. A low pressure area is expected to form, under its influence.

Generally, southerly-south-westerly winds are prevailing over most areas of Tamil Nadu. At present only scattered light rain is expected around the North coast of Tamil Nadu and over western parts of Tamil Nadu.

This rainfall is expected to continue for next 24-48 hours.

In the last 24 hours, isolated to scattered light rain has been observed over Tamil Nadu; mainly cloudy sky is observed at most places over the state. Even though the rains are confined to the extreme South of coastal Andhra Pradesh, like Ongole, Kavali and Nellore receiving good rains, the weather system is most likely to hit Tamil Nadu any time now.
