July 26, 2016 8:40 AM |

Varanasi rain The foothills of East Uttar Pradesh have received heavy to moderate Monsoon showers this July. Nevertheless, the southeastern parts of the state have been relatively dry. However, during last 24 hours Varanasi received good rains. On July 24 also the city had recorded 4.5 mm of rainfall.

At present, the axis of the Monsoon trough can be seen passing through Anupgarh, Gwalior, Daltonganj, Digha and thence southeastwards, to northeast Bay of Bengal. This trough is likely to move towards the foothills of the Himalayas during next 24 to 48 hours.
