Weather across major cities in India

Weather in MumbaiWarm weather has gripped most parts of country, with temperatures settling several notches above normal. All thanks to the absence any significant weather system, leading to mainly dry weather conditions. Let us now have a look at the weather across the major cities of the country.

Delhi-NCR

Both maximum and minimum temperatures have already been settling near normal over the national capital for the last many days. On Friday, Delhi-NCR recorded maximum temperature of 25.1°C, while night temperatures settled at 13.5°C.

Now, these temperatures are expected to increase further by a degree or two during the next 2-3 days. Not only this, day maximums are likely to surpass 30-degree mark by next week, ushering in the summer like conditions.

Mumbai

After witnessing comfortable weather during the last couple of days, scorching heat has once again gripped Mumbai. On Friday, the city saw significant rise in day maximums as the temperatures settled at 35.6°C, five degrees above normal.

Further, weathermen predict that this rising trend will continue and in the coming days, maximum temperatures may reach 37°C or 38°C again. If this happens, Mumbaikars will have to reel under unbearably hot and humid weather conditions.

Bangalore

For the last three consecutive days, Bangalore has been witnessing day maximums around 35°C, which is three degrees above normal. Not only this night temperatures have also been settling above average by at least 2 degrees. On Friday, the garden city observed day maximum at 35.5°C, three degrees above normal, while minimums settled around 19.7°C which was also two degrees above average.

With this, weather has become uncomfortable and hot. Moreover, there is no respite from the rising trend in the mercury for another 48 hours. According to Skymet Weather, warm inland has been incessantly blowing over the region. Until and unless there is a change in the wind pattern, mercury will not drop.

Chennai

Weather in Chennai is no different from the rest of the country. With 31.1°C on Friday, the city is recording above normal day maximums. Meanwhile, night temperatures were near normal at 22.5°C.

With no rains in offing, the city will continue with warm and humid weather. Temperatures will settle above normal by a degree or two in the coming days as well.

Kolkata

Kolkata will have to brave sultry and hot weather during the next few days. The city of joy, on Friday, witnessed day maximum at 30.7°C that was one degree above normal. Meanwhile, night temperature settled near normal at 17.9°C.

According to Skymet Weather, we expect day temperature continue to rise. And, high levels of humidity will further increase the discomfort level.
