The Western Disturbance persists over Jammu and Kashmir and is likely to move away gradually.
A trough is extending from this system up to Central Pakistan.
The trough continues to extend from Sub-Himalayan West Bengal to Arunachal Pradesh.
Another trough is also extending from Sub-Himalayan West Bengal up to North Chhattisgarh.
Wind discontinuity can be seen over North Interior Karnataka to Comorin region across Tamil Nadu and South Karnataka.
The trough persists over Comorin region and adjoining equatorial Indian Ocean.
Weather Activity in last 24 hours
Scattered light to moderate rain and snow with isolated heavy spells have been observed at many places over Jammu and Kashmir and parts of Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand.
Isolated light rain and thundershowers occurred over northern parts of Punjab.
Fairly widespread moderate to heavy showers were recorded over Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and Meghalaya.
Both maximum and minimum temperatures have dropped further over northwestern plains including Delhi-NCR and adjoining Madhya Pradesh.

Rain and snow are expected to continue over East Jammu and Kashmir and adjoining Himachal Pradesh. Threat of avalanche and landslide loom large over the region.
Fairly widespread rain and thundershowers will continue over Northeast India including Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, reducing thereafter.
Isolated rains may occur over Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Kerala.
Temperatures are likely to drop further across northwestern plains and adjoining areas of Madhya Pradesh, East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Jharkhand.
Minimum temperatures are likely to rise over Telangana, Rayalaseema and Tamil Nadu.
