Rakhi Celebrations

The virtuous bond between a brother and his sister is by far the sweetest and most noble human emotion. This ‘bandhan’ is technically celebrated every day, but on 'Raksha Bandhan' or 'Rakhi' this bond attains a revered significance.

Rahki is observed on the full moon day of the Hindu month of Shravan. On this auspicious occasion, sisters tie a scared thread, called Rakhi, on their brothers' right wrists. While sisters pray for their brother’s long life, brothers in return promise to protect them from evil.

This thread, which pulsates with sublime sentiments of a sister, is celebrated across the country. It is true that inclement weather conditions in terms of heavy rains, strong winds and extreme temperatures will never hinder a sister from reaching out to her brother and vice-versa. Nevertheless, Skymet will help you plan the coming weekend in a better fashion. Looking at the weather conditions you can decide whether to spend time indoors or plan a day out.
