After a prolonged dry spell, Bangladesh has received rainfall activity across many parts of the country. Rainfall activity has resulted in pleasant weather conditions. The low-pressure area which was prevailing over northeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining areas can be attributed to the hefty showers across Bangladesh.

In the last 24 hours from 8.30 am on Sunday, Comilla witnessed three digit rain to the tune of 106.2 mm. In the same span of time, Feni recorded 66 mm rain, Sylhet 46.4 mm, Srimangal 46.1 mm, Tangail 21 mm, Madaripur 15.1 mm, Hatia 10.8 mm, Mymensingh 10.3 mm and Satkhira 9.6 mm of rain.

As per weathermen at Skymet Weather, the low-pressure area over the region has weakened now and it prevails as a cyclonic circulation over Bangladesh and adjoining Assam.

In the wake of these weather activities, it is anticipated that the rain intensity over Bangladesh will reduce now. Very light rain may continue to occur over the country.

The sky conditions will remain cloudy to partly cloudy until rain subsides completely from Bangladesh. Due to the hefty showers, the mercury levels have also reduced marginally but as the rains have stopped, temperature levels are likely to increase.

The minimum day temperatures will be recorded around 18°C to 20°C and the maximum temperatures will range between 25°C to 27°C. It expected that dense fog may occur across many coastal stations of the country from December 12.
