Dazzling dancing cloud of starlings in Israel sky

Bringing the adage ‘birds of same feather flock together’ to reality is an aerial spectacle of synchronized maneuvering by flock of starlings. The dance-like flight was a sight that left photographers amazed in Rahat, city in Southern district of Israel. Before the 90s, the European starlings used to migrate during winter season to Israel in million, the number which has drastically come down to thousands. Nonetheless, the impeccable act of matching each other’s speed performed by starlings, used as a defense mechanism against predators, comes across matchless.

The hypnotizing ‘murmuration’, the act of dancing dark cloud was believed to bedazzle people 20 years back, which later took a break, reappeared in 2012 and has been surprising since since then. The feathered friends flock together to look for food while migrating in the winter season.
