Damaging storms, tornadoes aims South US this Friday

The threat of violent storms and tornadoes looms large over the Southern Plains on Friday. The destructive storms will continue to move eastwards with the probability of reaching the southern Appalachians by Sunday.

Severe weather outbreak is expected to continue for multiple days spanning the northern Plains to the Midwest through the middle of this week. In fact, severe weather developing as a dynamic storm sweeping the Rockies toward the Mississippi Valley.

As per the weathermen, the precise placement and timings of the severe weather conditions will depend on the track of the parent storm system and the amount of daytime heating.

The first series of severe storms are expected to arrive on Thursday evening in western Oklahoma and northwestern Texas. The severe weather is then likely to continue from northern Oklahoma to north-central Texas on Friday.

Heavily populated areas will be at a greater threat of the severe weather will continue to shift farther east on weekend. Middle and lower Mississippi Valley will be at a risk of severe storms paving the way on Saturday while the threat is most likely to extend into the Tennessee Valley, the southern Appalachians and perhaps as far to the north as part of the Ohio Valley on Sunday.

For people staying in these localities, proper caution and prior weather monitoring are advisable. Travel disruption and outdoor activities during or near the weekend are also expected.
