As the Labor Day is approaching, the residents of northern plains of United States of America should prepare for some severe thunderstorms which will put a stormy full stop after an extended holiday weekend.

Residents of cities such as Omaha, Nebraska; Sioux Falls, South Dakota and Minneapolis and Duluth, Minnesota should prepare for these storms as storms are likely to interrupt Labor Day festivities. However, places like Milwaukee, Wisconsin and Chicago are most likely to be in safe zone.

Some severe storms will develop today itself from Nebraska to Wisconsin. This will threaten the festivities for the people living there but also the people travelling across the region.

The weatherman said, “The greatest potential for a thunderstorm to impact outdoor activities especially on Labor Day will be in the Upper Midwest. That place is where severe thunderstorms will erupt in the afternoon.”

"The strongest thunderstorms will produce damaging winds, hail and isolated tornadoes," the weatherman further added.

Residents of these areas are advised to keep an eye on the sky and seek shelter when a storm is approaching.

This entire week will be rainy and affected by the thunderstorms for the region stretching from Nebraska to Wisconsin.

By the end of this week the threat of severe weather will decrease significantly; however, some rainy spells during the middle of the week may entice gusty winds.
