Winter Storm Orson causes major travel disruption

February 14, 2017 5:02 PM |

After the winter storm Niko, now another devastating storm, Orson has lashed parts of Northeast United States. The region recorded heavy snowfall along with gusty winds.

This is the second storm of the season that is rattling the region. But the misery doesn’t end here; a third storm is also expected over the region in the coming days. Approximately a foot of snow was witnessed in parts of New England. Also parts of Upstate New York recorded episodes of snow.

These weather conditions have led major travel disruptions. So far more than 1000 flights have been cancelled at various airports across the region. Also, such weather has ensured that schools remain shut.

In fact, such combination of strong winds and heavy snow has uprooted trees and electricity wires in some parts. People are advised to avoid travel for a while and stay at home.
