Monsoon and romance go hand in hand. The season of love as they call it gets even better when rain makes an appearance. But how about a Monsoon wedding? While the idea of a wedding during the rainy season may sound scary and turn your mind into panic mode, Monsoon weddings are not that bad after all. The only thing you need to do is follow some simple tips and make your memorable day even more exciting.
The most important thing that you do need to keep in mind is the venue of your wedding. Do not at any cost book a venue which is not covered. You never know when the rain gods would want to shower their blessings on both of you. Try to keep your wedding an indoor affair and save yourself from all the trouble. Also ensure that the area from the driveway to the venue is also covered so that your venue remains untouched.
Monsoon is the time when many allergies tend to affect your health. Most of these infections occur due to food and water. Thus while planning the menu, make sure that you add healthier foods and try to avoid some of those not so healthy foods. Ensure that proper hygiene is maintained and each food item is safe to consume. Avoid golas and kulfis as well as sea foods. Coffees, soups, pastas and tava items are a great option.
Since its Monsoon, why not go for a rainy theme. You could have a rainbow photo booth, use fountains and add a lot of colours to your decorations. Instead of going for flowers to the décor, you could go for colourful drapes instead. You could also use crystals to give it a rainy effect. For your bachelor/bachelorette party, you could get a rain dance party organized to add to the fun. You could also get invites customized as per your rain theme.
Most people avoid getting married during Monsoon, and most of the weddings take place during the later months of the year making the rainy season the best time to get discounts. You can get whatever you need and that too at the cheapest rates possible. Hotel room rates are less, the venue has low booking prices and due to less weddings every one including the decorators, and caterers, photographers and make-up artists are easily available.
We know Indian lehengas are incomplete without heavy jewellery and attires, but since you have planned a Monsoon wedding for yourself you must ensure that you buy light weight fabrics. Also, wearing bright colours will complement the weather. For grooms, instead of going for a heavy weight sherwani, you could try out a bright coloured wedding attire made by a lighter fabric.
During this annoying season, bridal make up usually melts away due to the humid conditions. Thus the idea is to use waterproof make up. Even when you are applying a blush or shadow, make sure you do not use any cream based stuff. Try to put your hair up as a bun, which is certainly the best option for a rainy day. You never know when your hair will turn frizzy and result into something hideous.
