Drop in temperature kick starts festivities in Delhi

October 5, 2013 1:43 PM |

Maximum temperature over Delhi and NCR dropped by 08 degrees below normal on 4th of October due to a low pressure area and associated cyclonic circulation over north Madhya Pradesh. Low to medium clouds covered the sky throughout the day and did not allow the temperatures to rise.

Due to low temperatures, convective clouds were prevented from developing, which might have given intense thundershowers at many places. Light drizzle continued at most places, keeping the maximums around 26 degrees, while the minimum temperature was one degree above normal around 22 degrees Celsius. The chill in the air was perfect to kick start the festive season.

This low pressure area has now moved in the north east direction over east Uttar Pradesh. Skies will remain partly cloudy and temperatures are expected to rise by 5 to 7 degrees during the next 48 hours with scarce chance of rain.
