September 3, 2013 3:26 PM |

The cyclonic circulation over Bihar and adjacent sub Himalayan West Bengal persists. Bihar, Jharkhand and adjoining areas witnessed very heavy rain in few areas, recording up to 58mm in Gorakhpur, 158mm in Patna and 60mm in Gaya, in the last 24 hours. The axis of monsoon trough now passes through Amritsar, Bareilly, Gaya, Malda to Nagaland, due to the previous system.

North Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal will continue to receive moderate light rain for the next 24 hours. Thereafter, the intensity of rain will gradually reduce as the cyclonic circulation has moved further eastward.

The temperatures are below normal by 2 to 4 degree Celsius in the rain lashed areas. Cloudy sky will prevail and excess of humidity in the air will cause uneasiness towards the afternoon.
