Heavy Rainfall Over Rajasthan-Gujarat Likely
Jun 25, 2025, 1:19 PM | Skymet Weather TeamRajasthan and Gujarat have been experiencing a rain surplus during this monsoon season so far. Gujarat, Saurashtra & Kutch, and East Rajasthan have recorded large excess, and West Rajasthan an excess of rainfall between 01st and 25th June 2025. Monsoon has already covered the entire Gujarat and large parts of South and East Rajasthan. Active monsoon conditions are likely to prevail over these two states for the next few days, and heavy rainfall is expected for a couple of days.
There is a cyclonic circulation over the extreme Northeast Arabian Sea and adjoining parts of North Gujarat and South Rajasthan. Another cyclonic circulation has come up over the Northwest Bay of Bengal and parts of West Bengal and Odisha. An east-west trough joining these two features is running across the states of Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, and West Bengal. Monsoon is active all along this axis, and the activity is accentuated with another circulation embedded over the Madhya Pradesh region. Under the influence of a western disturbance, the western end of this trough is getting pulled northward. This will increase the monsoon activity over large parts of these two states over the next 4–5 days.
Intensity and spread of weather activity will increase sequentially between 25th and 28th June. During this window, heavy to very heavy rainfall is likely at a few places on 26th and 27th June, with the latter having an edge over the former. Central and southern parts of Rajasthan will be more vulnerable, and the districts at bigger risk will include: Jaipur, Ajmer, Dausa, Tonk, Kota, Bundi, Pali, Bhilwara, and Udaipur divisions. North and Central Gujarat will also be subjected to heavier than normal rainfall. The stations with caution will include Deesa, Patan, Banaskantha, Sabarkantha, Palanpur, and Mehsana. The central parts of Gujarat may also get deluged, and heavy rains may even reach Ahmedabad, Gandhinagar, Baroda, and Anand.
La Nina Update: La Nina May Follow ENSO-Neutral During Fall Of Year
