July 14, 2015 7:28 PM |

In view of Monsoon trough shifting further north over foothills, Southwest Monsoon remains weak over most parts of the country. We can expect the revival of Monsoon by weekend as a new weather system is likely to develop in Bay of Bengal.

A fresh Western Disturbance is approaching North India and is presently stationed over Afghanistan and North Pakistan. With this, we can expect light clouding over Jammu and Kashmir on Wednesday.

The western end of Monsoon trough is now running over the foothills of Himalayas, while the eastern end is moving across Bahraich, Gorakhpur, Bhagalpur, Digha and further up to Bay of Bengal.

We can expect rainfall activity all along the trough line, particularly heavy rains over Sub Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Assam, Meghalaya and Arunachal Pradesh.

A feeble cyclonic circulation can be seen over North Bihar and adjoining foothills and a trough can be seen extending from this up to coastal Andhra Pradesh across Jharkhand and Odisha. This will trigger light to moderate rain and thundershowers on Wednesday over states of Bihar, Jharkhand, Chhattisgarh, Odisha and Andhra Pradesh.

Moving down south, the off-shore trough along the West Coast will continue giving moderate rain over coastal Karnataka, however it will be light over Goa and Kerala region.

As per Skymet, the weather activity will pick up all along the West Coast in next two days even covering parts of Maharashtra and coastal Gujarat.

Meanwhile, parts of West, Central and interiors of Peninsular India will continue with very least weather activity.
