After battering Chennai, Cyclone Vardah has weakened significantly into a depression and is now seen over Interior Tamil Nadu, north of Dharmapuri.
As it will continue to move inland, it is likely to further weaken into a well-marked low pressure area in the next few hours.
Vardah will continue to move in west- southwest towards South Interior Karnataka. With this, rains will now head to Bangalore, which is likely to witness moderate to heavy showers during the next 12 hours.
Rest of the South Interior Karnataka will also see good rains during the next 24 hours.
Remnants of the system will continue to give good rains over Tamil Nadu but with reduced intensity. Chennai, which had recorded extremely heavy rains during last 24 hours, will now witness mainly light rains with possibility of some moderate showers during the afternoon.
