Monsoon Forecast for Sep 5, 2017: Rain in Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Northeast India

During the last 24 hours, Active Monsoon conditions were seen West Madhya Pradesh, parts of Rayalaseema, Andhra Pradesh and Northeast India.

Whereas, Monsoon remained normal over Uttarakhand, Himachal Pradesh, Gangetic West Bengal, Konkan and Goa, Gujarat, South Interior Karnataka, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu.

Major rain contribution came from Nellore that recorded 75 mm of rainfall, followed by Bengaluru at 57 mm and Pasighat 53 mm.

As on September 3, the cumulative countrywide rainfall is deficient by 4%. As far as the regional distribution is concerned, Northwest, Central and South India are rain deficient by 2%, 6% and 6%, respectively.

Presently, the axis of the Monsoon trough is running close to the foothills of the Himalayas.

During the next 24 hours, Monsoon is likely to remain active over Rayalaseema, Karnataka, parts of Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim and Arunachal Pradesh.

Meanwhile, Normal Monsoon conditions are expected over Telangana, Vidarbha, South Madhya Pradesh, Kerala, Interior Tamil Nadu, parts of Odisha.

However, Monsoon will remain subdued over remaining parts of Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, parts of Haryana, Punjab, West Uttar Pradesh and Konkan and Goa.
