Weather Forecast for Apr 23: Rain in Kolkata, Kerala, Hyderabad; dry weather in Chennai

Beginning with the weather over North India. The Western Disturbance is moving across Western Himalayas which is likely to increase some clouding over Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh. Meanwhile, dry and very warm weather will be observed over Northwest India. Dry and warm weather will also prevail over Delhi. In fact, Jaipur will also witness similar weather.

Moving to the weather in East and Northeast India. A cyclonic circulation is persisting over Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and adjoining region. An upper air trough is seen extending from this system across Jharkhand and Coastal Odisha. Due to these systems, light to moderate rain with strong winds will continue over Northeast India, West Bengal, Odisha, Telangana. Kolkata is also expected to witness rain and thundershower activities.

Further in Central India dry and very hot weather will continue to prevail over Maharashtra, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh. However, due to the presence of the trough, Chhattisgarh may see some rains. Mumbai will see a hot and humid day.

Lastly in South India due to the trough, Coastal Andhra Pradesh is expected to see some rains. The wind discontinuity is extending from South Tamil Nadu to North Interior Karnataka. Due to presence of this system, light to moderate rain is expected over Kerala and South Interior Karnataka with few places over Interior Tamil Nadu, North Interior Karnataka and Rayalaseema. Dry and warm weather will prevail over Chennai. Meanwhile, Hyderabad will witness a dry and hot day with chances of light rains at few parts of the city. Bengaluru will witness humid weather and partly cloudy sky.
