Weather Forecast for Aug 21: Rain in Mumbai, Kolkata, Bengaluru

To begin with North, a Western Disturbance is seen over Jammu and Kashmir. So, light rain is possible over the state. Meanwhile, Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand may receive light to moderate rains with isolated heavy spells.

Coming to northwestern plains of India, scattered showers are likely over North Punjab, whereas rest of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, North Rajasthan and West Uttar Pradesh may record isolated rains.

Moving to East and Northeast side, scattered rains are possible along the foothills of Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and northeastern states.

In the meantime, light to moderate rains may occur at few places over Gangetic West Bengal and North Odisha.

East Uttar Pradesh, rest of Bihar and Jharkhand are anticipated to see light rain at few places.

In Central region, rains will reduce over Chhattisgarh, East Madhya Pradesh and Vidarbha region. However, light rains will continue over few places. While, moderate showers with one or two heavy spells are expected over Southwest Madhya Pradesh, South Gujarat and North Madhya Maharashtra.

Down South, an off shore trough extends along the West Coast. With this, moderate to heavy showers are likely over Konkan and Goa. Rest of Madhya Maharashtra, Coastal Karnataka and Kerala may witness light to moderate rains with one or two heavy spells. Andaman and Nicobar Islands may also observe good rains.

Rest parts of South Peninsula including Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu may record light rains at few places.

Talking about major cities of India, Mumbai may record moderate to heavy showers, while Kolkata may see light to moderate rains. Hyderabad and Bengaluru may receive light rains.
