Weather Forecast for August 21: Relief from Kerala floods, Rain in Telangana, AP, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat

Under the impact of low pressure area over Chhattisgarh and adjoining Odisha, heavy to very heavy showers are likely to lash central parts of the country, namely Madhya Pradesh, parts of Vidarbha, Marathwada and Chhattisgarh.

On the other hand, the ongoing heavy rains will abandon parts of Andhra Pradesh, Telangana and Odisha; however moderate rain can be expected. Likewise, pockets of Rajasthan, Gujarat and Konkan & Goa along with Mumbai would too see moderate showers.

Further, the off shore trough along the West Coast would give moderate rainfall over Coastal Karnataka and Kerala as well. Good news is in offing for entire Kerala as the state would now see reduced rainfall bringing some respite during next few days. Meanwhile, rest of Southern Peninsula would settle with light showers.

Up in North, the cyclonic circulation over Jammu & Kashmir would cause light rain with moderate showers at few places over the state along with Himachal Pradesh and Uttarakhand. The plains of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi and Uttar Pradesh would witness mostly light patchy rain with moderate spells at very few places.

Correspondingly, Bihar, Jharkhand and West Bengal may get mainly light rain in pockets with moderate at limited places. The Northeastern states are expected to get moderate rain at scattered places.
