Weather Forecast for Dec 17: Fresh low pressure in Bay of Bengal, Mercury dips in North India

December 16, 2016 7:12 PM |

A fresh low pressure area has developed in Bay of Bengal that is prevailing over southeast Bay of Bengal and adjoining South Andaman and Nicobar Islands. With this, moderate to heavy rains will make a comeback over Andaman and Nicobar Islands. At present, the system is far away from affecting the weather over the Indian mainland.

Meanwhile, the low pressure area in Southeast Arabian Sea has become more marked and is gradually moving away from the Indian coast. However, system will continue to give isolated light rains over Lakshadweep Islands, Kerala and South Coastal Karnataka.

Now moving into Central India, the region will continue with clear and dry weather, which will lead to marginal drop in minimum temperatures.

Up in North India, the feeble western disturbance continues to affect Jammu and Kashmir but it will not give any weather over the state. Cold and dry northwesterly winds will lead to further drop in both day and night temperature across northern plains including Delhi NCR.

Meanwhile, moderate to dense fog will continue over North Rajasthan, Haryana, Punjab, East Uttar Pradesh, Bihar and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal.
