Weather Forecast for December 13: Chennai, Tamil Nadu to witness clear weather

December 12, 2015 6:02 PM |

The active Western Disturbance which had given season’s first widespread and heavy snowfall over northern hills has finally moved away. As a result, clear weather will be witnessed over Jammu and Kashmir and Himachal Pradesh on Sunday.

However, icy cold northwesterly winds from snow clad mountains will now blow over North and Central India. This will lead to further drop in both maximum and minimum temperatures by at least two to three degrees over Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh and Northwest Uttar Pradesh.

People of North India will now have to brace up for the chilly winters ahead.

Meanwhile, scattered light rain is expected over Vidarbha, Telangana, Chhattisgarh and Odisha due to the conversion of dry and cold winds blowing from northern region with warm and humid winds from southern region.

Moving down to south, dry weather conditions will be prevailing over Tamil Nadu including Chennai on Sunday. However, isolated rainfall may occur over southern parts of the state.

Meanwhile rain activity is likely to pick up over Kerala and Coastal Karnataka that may witness scattered light to moderate rain on Sunday.

Moving on to Northeast India, the cyclonic circulation over Assam and Meghalaya region continues to persist that may give scattered light rain over Assam and Arunachal Pradesh.
